The Ugandan Refugee Church Project
Following the recent tribal conflicts that occurred in East of Congo Democratic, Bunia Ituri, over the last months, there has been an increase in the number of people fleeing to the neighboring countries. Those who remained in the country are languishing in poverty and insecurity either in camps for displaced people or in their homes. Today, we count thousands of Congolese refugees living in East Africa, the majority of them being in Uganda.
We can’t let those brothers and sisters suffer alone ,therefore we are inviting you to join in the “Ugandan Church Planing Project “ that has started on the field in a Uganda refugee camp .
Ugandan Church Planning Project will more be involved with the refugee ministry in Uganda to encourage, strengthen, console, comfort, build up, support, give hope, and recreate people who have been hit by misfortunes, catastrophes, such as deaths, civil wars, HIV/AIDS, etc."
Objectives and Activities
1. Mission and Evangelism
The Ugandan Church Planning Project is driven by the love to bring people to Jesus through evangelism and discipleship and by training church leaders to carry on this task. Timothy 2:2 . This project will help refugees so that they may have true and meaningful worship in
their context as we fulfill God’s Great Commission. God is alive even among the refugees.On the social side, refugees are hungry and thirsty. They need support to meet all their needs. The Lord is faithful and compassionate to them because he provides for their needs and he gives them enough strength to keep moving. God makes a way where there seems to be no way.
2. HIV/AIDS Education and Care
There is the potential of people who are affected with sickness and diseases, therefore in the department of HIV/AIDS, this project will concentrate on education and care. To encourage those affected due to the life ordeals that they went through and show them the love of God.
3. Peace Building and Reconciliation
Refugees have an endless craving towards their homeland but they do realize that it is difficult to live there again with those who remained in the country because there is  prejudice on both sides.
One of the things that the project will be trying to do is to work as a bridge that builds peace by encouraging forgiveness and reconciliation,reconstruction and trauma healing.

 Addition of refugees  in Kyaka Refugee Camp since  February 
​ As of end of February and this month March, there is a great number of refugees in the camp . This also grows the number of church attendance and the needs for shelter and family assistance .

Prayer Request for refugees and families reunion:
​Pray that the Lord would heal them emotionally as they are still struggling with nightmares and emotional traumas 
​Pray that the Lord would provide for their daily needs in this new location
Pray that the Lord would bring peace in DRC
​Pray that the Lord would protect and look after their families that could not afford to flee to the neighbor country
​Pray that the Lord would bless the nation that has welcomed them  for safety .
​Pray for their spiritual lives through out this ordeal.
